The interior styling is a lovely mix of country charm and contemporary elegance. Two separate living areas with comfortable leather furniture plus beautifully appointed bedrooms are just the beginning.
A 100-year-old heritage-listed property situated on a private, secluded country estate. The property was originally built in 1913 by Louis Dawe, who established a fish cannery on this site, thus the area is now called ‘Dawesville.’ Louis’Â son, Allan, resided here for over 70 years and so the current owners have named this piece of WA history ‘Allandale’.
The house is well-equipped with entertainment systems, an Ipod docking station, wireless connectivity to a Denon sound system and two 42-inch LCD TVs with Blu-Ray DVD players, ensuring many hours of entertainment and fun.
Just one hour from Perth, you could be playing tennis on the floodlit court or canoeing & crabbing on the estuary in no time at all. Children will be amused for hours exploring the expansive grounds.
Allandale is well-positioned for those who love the beach, there is a good choice of surf beaches and some can be accessed via nearby 4WD tracks. Bring your bikes to explore the coastline via scenic cycle tracks stretching along the coast from the Dawesville Cut to Mandurah and beyond. If you love fishing, launch your boat at the nearby boat ramp and anchor it directly in front of the property. You can also hire boats in Mandurah (appropriate skills and qualifications required).
Allandale is also close to the world-class ‘The Cut’ golf course in Dawesville.
In summer, it’s great to go to the beach early in the morning and retreat to the leafy protection of Allandale in the afternoon and enjoy the estuary lifestyle with your back to the sea breeze.
In the winter, relax, indulge, explore and enjoy spending quality family time at this historical homestead.

The little town of Walpole in the Great Southern has a wonderful history but remains one of the few secrets on the WA tourism trail. Tingle trees, The Valley of the Giants, the Walpole/Nornalup Inlet and the Frankland River are just some of the unique holiday attractions nearby.
We think it’s very special here! Chirriger on Inlet makes it possible for families and groups to enjoy the area in perfect comfort in summer or winter. This spacious two-storey home is designed to capture the views with the open plan kitchen, dining and living area upstairs. From here, step out onto wonderful decks to enjoy views of the surrounding forest and inlet.
The master bedroom and ensuite are also on this upper level and enjoy the views. Three other bedrooms are downstairs, plus an additional TV room that creates extra space for children or couples to enjoy television or games. Or just a spot to curl up with a book away from everyone else.
Reverse cycle air-conditioning is available all year, however winter guests are sure to prefer the cosy wood fire upstairs in the evenings. After a day’s paddling on the river or walking the forest, what could be better than local wine, home-cooked local produce and the wood fire?
The centre of town has a supermarket plus a handful of other stores for essential provisions. Fuel-up and take off for the day, being sure to explore the famous Tree Top Walk that’s only a 15-minute drive away.
The visitor centre in town is very cute and its volunteers are happy to help with tips for exploring. We particularly recommend the EcoCruise though the marine park and Nuyts Wilderness as a blissful way to learn about the area and its beginnings. But if you want to walk trails, they begin right at your front door!
